Project Description:

This 3,200 plus square foot Two Family in Arlington needed an interior face lift. With the First Floor rented, the owners wanted to see a bit more natural light and a somewhat open floor plan on the Upper Floor. The entire Second Floor was our canvas along with a huge untouched attic space. Existing Kitchen was dark, dreary and lacking character. Dining and Family Room spaces followed suit. Since the Kitchen was located just under a hip roof we decided to make use of a two story volume and with three perfectly proportioned skylights dowsed our New Kitchen with buckets of natural light. A Two Sided Fireplace, demolished separating walls, open hallways and a few skylights in the Attic, transformed this dull Second Floor apartment into a spectacular, sun kissed  living space with a significant gain of square footage in the Attic.
